Jackson Thornton Character Biography

Jackson is a filmmaker, video-synth artist and VHS enthusiast! Born by the beach, this character chooses to spend their time by capturing the world through cameras, either onto digital computers or onto magnetic tape. What draws Jackson to filmmaking is the mixed-media properties that come with experimental film, allowing for all sorts of mediums to be translated into video such as illustration, sculpting, painting, and even physical film.

In this character’s inventory are various items for creating videos, one of which is the Chroma Corruptor, a device designed to warp reality and distort visuals. The Chroma Corruptor uses different knobs and switches to take video-data and circuit-bend its’ qualities, creating the distinct visual motifs seen in the self-portrait’s glitches.
